Paul Zhang

Paul is a PhD student in the Geometric Data Processing group. His research interests include all aspects of computer animation, though he focuses on meshing and simulation, which is to model complex objects with simple shapes. Paul completed his undergraduate degree in computer science at the California Institute of Technology with a focus in computer graphics. Outside of academia, Paul enjoys hand-drawn animation and frequently wishes he could be an animator. However, his brief forays into hand-drawn animation have enlightened him to the insurmountable wall of patience necessary to draw for a living. While he also enjoys pondering what it would be like to be good at sports, due to a lack of physical stamina and discipline, he more often retreats to the comfort of video games. He has recently spent a lot of time in EDF.
